Only three cities in Portage County -- Aurora included -- showed signs of population growth, according to the latest numbers from the U.S Census Bureau. Aurora, Kent and Streetsboro were up, while other cities and villages in the county were down.

Tickets available for Hudson Garden Tour

This year's Hudson Home Garden Tour will take place June 15-16. The tour will offer evening hours on Thursday until 8 p.m. The event begins at 10 a.m. both days and ends at 5 p.m. Friday. This year is the tour's 70th anniversary.

ODOT will start new projects in Portage this week

The Ohio Department of Transportation has several new projects in the works in Portage County. Route 43 over I-76 in Brimfield and Suffield Townships is reduced to one lane in each direction nightly between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. for bridge repairs.

Aurora High play crew earns Dazzle Award

On May 20 at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, the Aurora High drama production of "Anything Goes" won a Dazzle Award for technical execution. Twenty-three area high schools participated in the awards, and this is the first year any Portage County school has been allowed to participate.
